About Fiat Malaniyom 

Fiat is a consulting chef, specialty produce consultant and passionate produce grower with experience spanning over 20 years working with Michelin-star chefs, award-winning chefs & hatted restaurants, multi-eatery venues, hotels, international franchise brand, Masterchef, food industry professionals as well as food lovers & home cooks around Australia.

From an early age Fiat has always been involved in the food and restaurant business. His family ran many successful restaurants in Thailand. It was at his family, Fiat has developed a passion for great food cooking with love and care from the heart.  

In Australia, Fiat started his career under the guidance of Chalida Rathanatae, a well-respected Thai restauranteur, the owner of Sydney’s first and longest running Thai restaurant at the time (est. 1976) called “Siam”. This is where he gained valuable insights & knowledge about fresh Asian produce and ingredients which were just slowly being introduced into Australia.

Later on, Fiat had an opportunity to work and be mentored by chef David Thompson and Tanongsak Yordwai at Sydney Sailors’ Thai Restaurant, which gave him further experience in all aspects of the restaurant operation as well as professional service. 

Sunrise Asian Produce

In 2005 due to the lack of quality Asian produce grown in Australia as well as the encouragement from his mentors, Fiat founded Sunrise Asian Produce, a company that offered food, specialty produce consulting & provedore services to many award-winning chefs, hatted restaurants, food industry professionals as well as home cooks around Australia. Within a few years Sunrise Asian Produce was named “The Best Provedore” by The Sydney Morning Herald.

Sunrise Asian Restaurant, Provedore & Retail Food Store

In 2015, Fiat opened Sunrise Asian Restaurant, Provedore & Retail Food Store. The restaurant offered Fiat’s true Australian grown produce-driven menu while the retail food store offered his quality produce and artisan made products like his Signature Kitchen Essential Products, Ready to Cook & Ready to Eat Meals. 

Within a short amount of time, Sunrise Asian restaurant had gained many positive reviews.
